Homes Where I Lived

Here I am going to enumerate and either briefly describe each location and home in which I lived from childhood until today or give a separate page to describe. To be included, I determined (somewhat arbitrarily) that I should have lived there for approximately three months to be included as a separate location/period. Additional details may be later added for some of these locations.

For each entry, the leading [x,y] keeps track of two items. The x is the unique time period number, and the y is the location number. So, the x is always unique, but the y may be repeated if the same location is used again at a different time.

Haven Township Home - also known as our St. Cloud Home (or just Home).

[7,6]. August 1976 - May 1977 -- Collegeville, MN
St. John's 1976-1977 - I was a student at St. John's University (SJU). This describes where I was that year, why I chose SJU, and what courses I took that first year (and some explanations for those choices).
[8,4]. June 1977 - August 1977 -- Haven Township, Sherburne County
After college was out, I moved back to my Haven Township home (see [4,4] above) for the summer. During this summer, I had a another job with the St. Cloud Recreation Department. See My 1977 summer job to learn more about it.

I moved back to St. John's for my sophomore year,
[10,7]. May 1978 - September 1978 -- Big Oaks Campground, rural Monticello in Sherburne County
Big Oaks summer 1978 - SE of Monticello, MN.SE of Monticello, MN, in a small (about 11' long) trailer as Marcia and I (after we were married) managed the employee campground for Northern States Power Company. - not ready yet
[11,8]. September 1978 - May 1979 -- St. Joseph, MN
St. Joseph, MN apartment 1978-1979 school year and we rented an apartment there on an income-based rent. This was for my junior year at St. John's University - not ready yet
[12,7]. May 1979 - September 1979 -- Big Oaks Campground, rural Monticello in Sherburne County
Big Oaks summer 1979 - SE of Monticello, MN. enting a larger trailer (about 22' long - to accommodate Tim) as Marcia and I continued to manage the NSP employee campground. - not ready yet
[13,8]. September 1979 - February 1980 -- St. Joseph, MN
St. Joseph, MN Fall 1979 + We again lived in the same apartment in St. Joseph, Minnesota, for my last semester at SJU - not ready yet
[14,9]. February 1980 - May 1980 -- Buffalo, MN
Buffalo, MN Spring 1980 just off MN 55 near Lake Pulaski - rented a house while I had a long-term substitute job in Watertown, south of Buffalo - not ready yet
[15,7]. May 1980 - September 1980 -- Big Oaks Campground, rural Monticello in Sherburne County
Big Oaks summer 1980 - SE of Monticello, MN. We (including Tim) were back at Big Oaks Campground for our third (and final) year, renting the same larger trailer - not ready yet
[16,10]. September 1980 - January 15, 1981 -- Albany, MN
Albany, MN - rental until purchase made; we rented a home on Railroad Ave, just south of the high school at which I taught - not ready yet
[17,11]. January 15, 1981 - June 29, 1985 -- Albany, MN
Albany, MN - owned - We bought a home whose address was 631 6th Street, near the lake and park- not ready yet

Pella, IA - rental before purchase we first rented a home at 109 E. 10th. We liked Pella, so we bought a home - not ready yet

[21,15]. summers 2012 - present -- Itasca County, MN
Itasca County, MN - at cabin for the summer, usually at least 2.5 months - not ready yet

While the list may seem long with 21 places given, there were some duplicates: twice at St. John's University, twice in St. Joseph, thrice at Big Oaks, and four times in the Haven township area. In all, it was only 10 different zip codes: Ann Arbor (MI), St. Cloud (MN), Fargo (ND), Collegeville (MN), St. Joseph (MN), Buffalo (MN), Albany (MN), Notre Dame (IN), and Pella (IA), Itasca county.
