Genealogy Information - By Place

Instructions, if needed, are given below this form.

Fields with * are required.

For example, if a state is chosen, should just those records with only the state specified be chosen (second option) or show records where with places within the state be chosen (first and default option)?

First, choose a place for which information is sought. This can be broad, by choosing a state, or narrow by choosing a town in a county and state and country.

Second, choose if you wish to be inclusive (default) or exclusive. If you choose the first option, then for any place chosen, any records containing this place AND any those at places within the chosen place are chosen. However, the second option would restrict the place to be exactly as specified. For example, choosing Sherburne county in Minnesota with the first option would also include those records with the place being Elk River, Haven township, or Becker, all three within Sherburne county. However, with the second option, only records that give the place as exactly Sherburne county, Minnesota would be chosen.

Third, choose which type of records or information to view. Selecting "All Records" is the same as choosing each of the other options. Then choose submit.

Finally, keep in mind that the records revealed may be reduced for several reasons: (a) The number of records are only as good as what I have done in adding and assigning properties. I may have not yet added all records or processed all of them. (b) If you are viewing these records without having logged in, they will only show those that pertain to those who have deceased (except censuses names given in obituaries). If you are a relative, logging will show all the records. Use the Contact menu item to check with me about gaining access, if you do not yet have access.
